Reviving Proto Modeling with Faith and Precision

At Masterist Scale Railroad Models, we make prototype 87 model train parts that are more accurate than anyone else’s. Our goal is to bring back the real spirit of prototyping by making parts that match the exact shape, standards, and history of real trains. We combine historical accuracy and fine artistry in every single item we make.

About Us

About Us - Where Precision Meets Purpose

MSRM is based in Canada and is made up of people with a lot of technical knowledge, modeling experience, and a love for full-scale railway history. We use skilled engineering and study into the past to make parts that modelers can trust to be reliable and full of details.

Advancing the Proto Modeling Revolution

Our mission is simple: deliver the world’s most accurate Proto 87 model train parts following NMRA-approved S-3.1 and TN-1.1.1 wheel & track standards.
We design components using advanced measurement techniques, real-prototype data, and historical documentation, ensuring every part represents the real locomotive or rolling stock in miniature form.
This work supports our greater purpose: protecting the legacy of the iconic Rīgas Vagonbūves Rūpnīca (RVR) trains through research, modeling, and preservation.

HERITAGE PROJECTS

Saving the Legacy of RVR Trains

We’re developing next-generation Proto-standard parts — made for those who care about authenticity.

The main goal of our historical project is to record and protect the last few RVR-built trains that are still around. These trains were once reliable on Soviet and post-Soviet networks. As the amount of cutting goes up, time runs out. Through accurate modeling, photography, engineering documentation, and research, MSRM works to preserve its story for future generations.

MESSAGE / FAITH

Our Inspiration

The foundation of craftsmanship goes deep into human history. As written in Exodus 25:9, creation should follow a pattern and purpose.

Honoring the legacy of those before us includes protecting the machines, engineering, and heritage they left behind. This conviction inspired our Save RVR Trains Project.

Even when challenges rise, we trust in the promise of Luke 18:27:

“The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”

At MSRM, faith and craftsmanship work together, precision in our hands, hope in our hearts.
